I've been in love with the English language as long as I can remember.

The love was partially corrupted by a couple of years in the Civil Service when I was 17/18 but now, at 60 years of age, it's almost completely restored.

Two writers who have helped the process are Lawrence Durrell and Frank Herbert.

My own work leads me where it will...through the heartfield of an Australian society coloured by my life within it, and along tomorrows vague scheme.
